I am EVITA and I want to tell you my story and how Yoga saved my life.
As a small girl I was always happy and healthy until 15 years of age. Then I had a traffic accident with my moped and got a serious head trauma. A year after, I fell off a horse and damaged my right foot severally. At 17 I hurt my back during riding. I had a complicated surgery, wich damaged my back even further. I went through 5 more operations after that. Had to learn how to walk again several times in between these operations and also got a "pain pacemaker" installed, which I decided to take away, as starting doing yoga.
Before, during and after these operations I got everything possible in the form of medicines, painkillers, antidepressants, treatments, aids, and even tried alcohol for some time to ease the pain physically and mentally. Been hospitalized yearlong periods and was offered to go into pension when I was 30 years old. I was totally deprived a descent and normal life.
When nothing of this was helping me in the right direction, more like the opposite effect, I found the Yoga...
I had a very deep Yoga experience at once, a three month Yoga camp in Swedish town of Håå. A tough but necessary journey both for my heart and brain, including among other things 33 days in total silence. The best and thoughest gift, I ever could have been given, even though a few people dropped out the back door.
With this incredible journey and experience of how you can self heal with the techniques of Yoga, I now am a teacher to guide more people to a better life. I always see a possibility for everybody to develop and grow in many levels in life, not only physically but also mentally. I still have heavy pain, limping around every morning and now also suffering from arthritis. Without the Yoga in my life, I would not have a life, so I am "Keeping it up!"
With the help of Yoga we can let go of our fears and pains, find our inner strength and joy and find a harmony with what is happening in the every day life. To have access to Yoga as a tool everywhere and any time. When you have learned the tools, as the breathing, body postures and meditation, it becomes like a red thread in your life... here and now. It is like a life- or medical insurance.
The choice is mine, yours and ours.
